Lets talk about pointy hats! The Witches' Hat has a variety of possible historical roots including ancient deity worship, the Siberian Shaman's 'Dayligda', the 'Hennin' worn by princesses in the 1440's, and the 'Copataine' or riding hat.
The shape is a perfect representation of male and female as well as the cone of power raised during energy work. No one is exactly sure where the conical shaped hat originated or how exactly it became associated with the Witch but one thing is for sure, it is undoubtedly a power symbol of the Witch today.
You can read more about the history in a wonderful article available online at Shadowplay.
Here are just some of the one-of-a-kind hats (ornaments included!) that are currently available at The Pointy Hat:

Obviously, I LOVE the witch hat and enjoy creating new and unique pieces every chance I get. Each one is an adventure from choosing the fabric (or many times having it choose me) to embellishing and giving them personality. My latest creation is Goth-inspired but you will have to wait a little longer to see it.
Do you have a dream witch hat needing to be created for you? Let's talk... I do custom hats too!
